Before there was Myspace, before Facebook ever existed, before Twitter made its first tweet,  there was SOCOM.  SOCOM brought together Playstation 2 gamers from all over the country to play one of the first multiplayer team  based military shooters.  In only a short time players found themselves playing with the same people and groups night after night and calling themselves clans.  This was the true beginning of social networking.  Many clans started building websites so they could keep in touch when not actually playing the video game.  This is were the “old dude clan” comes in.  We were certainly not the 1st clan to build its own website but we quickly became one of the largest most well organized (that we knew of) SOCOM clans out there.  As Times change things change. The Playstatin 3 came along.Now days you almost always find one of us online playing one of the many playstation 3 games.

The one thing that has remained consistant is why we are here. The Old Dude Clan [odc] was founded as a place where the mature gamer can game without having to worry about immature attitudes. [odc] is casual group, meaning we get online to relax, unwind and to have a good time. [odc] is about forging friendships. It's about popping open a cold beer after a tough day at work, logging in online and dropping a 'nade on the bad guy - and having a good time doing it.
